Tools Needed To Install A Fence

If you are setting out to install a fence, then there are a few different types of tools you will probably need.  The type of tools you will require will depend in part on the type of fence you are looking to install.  For example, if you are looking to install a metal fence, then you will need a set of pliers to attach the hog rings that are used to attach each portion of metal fencing to one another – this type of tool is also known as a hog ring plier.  This will be one of the most important tools you’ll need for metal fencing, but if you are installing a wood fence, you’ll have no need for this type of plier at all because there are no hog rings used to join fencing made out of wood.

For wood fences, you will more likely need things like wood saws, screws and screwdrivers, hammers and nails, and nuts and bolts to secure each piece of fencing to each other.  Again, even though there are particular tools needed for wood as compared to metal, the actual tools you will need will depend in part on the style of fencing you are installing.

No matter what type of fencing you are installing, there are a few other tools you will need as well.  These include tools such as tape measures and levels, to make sure that you are correctly measuring any area that will be covered by a fence and also that the fence you install is level.  You will also need some assortment of nails, screws, nuts and bolts, and the associated tools needed to use them.  And you’ll need tools to dig for and bury the fence posts.
