A Ceiling Heater For Your Bathroom

bathroom ceiling heaterAvoiding mold and mildew in your bathroom is a never-ending struggle, because let’s face it, bathrooms are damp places where these nuisances  thrive. You really have to have air circulation through your bathroom to reduce the amount of dampness on tile and other surfaces, but what do you do if you are in a cool or cold climate where the entrance of any outside air makes your bathroom uncomfortably cold?

Bathroom ceiling heaters are an attractive option not just to keep you warm on those cold winter mornings:  it’s really part of your effort to keep your bathroom clean. As cooler, less humid air moves through the room,  it is made warm so that you and your family don’t have to compromise on comfort.

Now let’s face it, installing a ceiling heater of this kind is not exactly cheap. Perhaps you’re using a portable heater at the moment, which may seem like an economical decision. But how well is that “space heater” reducing overall mildew in the nooks and crannies in your bathroom? Are you keeping the flow of air to a minimum because the small heater doesn’t do a very good job of heating larger volumes of air? How much will it cost to replace tiles or grout because of unsightly mildew that unfortunately comes as a result?

Also, consider the downside of the space heater: it seems like they are always awkwardly placed in a small bathroom, very easy to brush up against or to knock over. These are very real safety issues will over the long-term, potential problems that can be eliminated through installing a more efficient heating unit up in the ceiling.

In the long run the efficiency of a proper bathroom ceiling heater, as well up as the safety aspects of it when compared to a portable heater, make it a smart purchase for a homeowner. It’s one of those investments that we may not look forward to paying for, but feel good about doing afterward. It will certainly be a small enhancement to the value of your home, but the biggest benefit is probably the increased comfort for you and your family.
