How To Get The Most From Your Bar Sink

bar sinkInstalling a bar sink in a home is usually an aesthetic addition, but with some functional planning you can actually get some serious use from it!  I know that it seems odd to think that most people who install a bar faucet and sink in their home don’t ever really use it, but it’s an unfortunate truth!  In this post I want to share some tips and additions that you can do to get some actual use out of your new sink.

If you aren’t sure what a bar sink is, or how it’s different than a regular sink, visit ematerials.net/bar-sinks to learn everything.

The location of your sink installation will be the biggest determinant of how much use you get from it.  Sinks in the kitchen and bathroom will get the most mileage.  If you are looking to install this in your home bar, you are probably only going to use it when it’s time for a drink, but that is what it’s there for.

In the kitchen you can add a water filter to a bar faucet and have clean, filtered drinking water whenever you want.  This will prevent you from wasting the filter while washing dishes or whatever you do with the regular kitchen sink.  You can also add this same setup to the bathroom.

Having the right size sink will also help you use it more often.  Some people install sinks that are just too small, and they end up splashing water all over the counter and floor!  The key to making sure that this doesn’t happen is to get a sink that is fairly deep.  When you see this type of sink in action in an actual bar they are much deeper than the regular bar sinks that they design for homes, this is to prevent making a mess while cleaning up.

Take all of the things discussed above to make sure that you actually use your new bar sink.  Do so, and you’ve gotten 100% more use out of it than almost everyone else who puts these in their home!
